Play United Program introduces primary school students (Years 3–6) to basketball in a fun, inclusive, and engaging way. Designed to inspire and develop the next generation of players, the program embodies Melbourne United’s values of excellence, selfless and inclusion.
What’s included:
- 60-minute basketball clinics over a 4 or 8-week program (flexible based on school needs)
- Program can be adjusted for all classes from Year 3 to Year 6.
- Clinics will include warm-up, fundamental skills training: dribbling, passing, shooting and defence and mini games to promote teamwork and application of skills.
- All participants receive a certificate of achievement after the program concludes.
Costs: $600 + GST for a 4-week program or $1,000 + GST for an 8-week program. Schools can use their Sporting Schools funding for this program.
Play United -
- Aims to increase participation in sport by introducing fundamental skills to primary-aged children.
- Is targeted to beginners, focusing on building confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment.
- Can be delivered directly in schools during PE classes or as an extra curricular program.
- Is designed to accommodate children of all abilities and backgrounds and encourages participation for fun, not competition.
